Lily turned three years old last Friday. She requested a kitty cat party and two friends, Jake and Mari. I don’t mind doing a lot for a party, especially if I only have to host two other friends. We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Lightner, Aunt Jamie, and the Timler’s. The kids enjoyed cat costumes, a mouse hunt, pizza, and pink cat cupcakes with milk. Even Abby got in on the action…
Grandpa Lightner and Matt took Jack on his first camping/fishing trip to Scott Lake while we were out there visiting Scott City Hospital. They had a blast and enjoyed the scenery while the girls (Grandma Lightner, Lily, Abby, Aunt Jamie, and myself) hung out on the farm. Here are their pictures!
Two weeks ago, Scott City Hospital paid for us to take a private plane from Wichita to Scott City, KS, which is about 30 miles north of Garden City where Matt is from. Yeah, it’s out there, but they bought us a flight on our very own plane! How cool is that?! Anyway, since we had never done anything like this before, we arrived at the airport way to early. Apparently, we could have arrived at 8:55am and taken off by 9:00am, but to be safe we got there at 8:10. The flight was a little bumpy to start, but the rest of it was super smooth. Fortunately, no one got sick. It only took an hour (versus the 4 hours driving) and Matt was free to help with the kids (instead of paying attention to the road). Matt said, “I could get used to traveling this way.” I said, “You are going to have to get a second job!” Enjoy the slideshow!
P.S. If you are wondering what we thought of Scott City…both of us liked it. Well, Matt loved it and I am not opposed to it (so you can say I liked it too). We will see where the Lord leads us!
